NAIP's Chairman invited by NAIP's Strategic Partner The Al Maktoum College of Higher Education to Meet Scotland's First Minister

NAIP's Chairman Nayaz Qazi was invited by NAIP's Strategic Partner The Al Maktoum College of Higher Education to Meet Scotland's First Minister. His Excellency Mirza Al Sayegh who is the Chairman of the Al Maktoum College of Higher Education in Scotland and NAIP's International Patron invited Nayaz Qazi as part of the delegation which met Scotland's First Minister The Right Honourable Mr Alex Salmond.

The meeting took place at The First Minister's Official Residence Bute House in Edinburgh. It was on the culmination of the Academic Training Programme at the Al Maktoum College of Higher Education in Dundee.

NAIP Chairman Nayaz Qazi said " I am very proud to be part of this high profile delegation including the UAE Ambassador H.E Mr Al Mutaiwee , Vice Chancellors and Senior Representatives of UAE Universities. I would like to thank HH Highness Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Rt Hon. Alex Salmond and H.E Mirza Al Sayegh. It was a memorable occasion and opportunity to meet senior representatives from academia to discuss the enhancement of professional courses and work force skills development."

International Payroll & HR Conference 2011 in Mumbai a Success

At its second International Conference in Mumbai on 3rd December 2011, Dr. Jadhav (Member of the National Advisory Council to the Government and Member of the National Planning Commission) (Member of the goverment of India national planning comission and national advisory coucil) applauded the training and education initiatives instigated by NAIP to help professionalize those working in Payroll and HR.

Dr. Jadhav, referring to the Government’s initiative to have 70 million skilled workers by the end of the12th five year plan, said that although this was an ambitious target it would be substantially aided by organizations such as NAIP playing a part and inspiring workers to enhance their skills and thereby their job prospects.

As keynote speaker Dr. Jadhav was welcomed by the 150 delegates at the Leela Hotel, all
HR & Payroll professionals, who heard national speakers such as Dr J T Vyas (Past Governor Rotary International) and other prominent contributors speaking on relevant topics relating to the Compensation and Rewards System, Harnessing the Power of Process and Delivering Successful Change as well as a panel of experts answering delegates’ technical questions.

Dr. Jadhav commented, “I felt at home among the NAIP delegates. These people assist Government by collecting and paying revenues due to Government, accurately and on time, enabling Government policies to continue. India is at the forefront of the International Payroll
and HR movement which makes me proud.”

Two speakers from the UK (Gordon Cresswell and Rose Howley of the UK’s Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals) spoke on Business Continuity when tragedies arise and Best Practice in Payroll and HR.

Mr Nayaz Qazi, Chairman of NAIP said, “NAIP is honoured that such eminent people as Dr. Jadhav and Dr. Vyas can take time from their schedules to lend support. It indicates we are on the right track and it is on route to be at the fore front of professionalisation and skill development in this great country India”

This very significant announcement was made by NAIP Chairman, Nayaz Qazi in the presence of His Excellency Mirza Al Sayegh , Representative of HH Sheikh Hamdan and Patron of NAIP. and other Senior Dignatries from the UAE including H.E Abdulrahman Ghanem Almutaiwee - UAE Ambassador to the UK , Mr Adullah Ansari - Rotary Club of Dubai , Dr . Nada Mourtada Sabah Vice Chancellor - American University of Sharjah, Dr Mohammad , Director of Dubai Police and Martin Price - British University Dubai. NAIP TO LAUNCH AN EXCITING NEW PREMIER ONLINE / DISTANCE LEARNING PORTAL IN AUGUST 2011

The National Academy of Indian Payroll will launch a premier online educational portal through NAIPONLINE, providing an outstanding distance/ blended learning service in the delivery of the:

1) Post Graduate Diploma in Payroll & Business Management
2) Advanced Diploma in Payroll & Payroll Compliance Management.

Whilst successfully completing the various stage of the NAIP qualification, interim certification will be provided:

DIGNITARIES PARTICIPATE THE FIRST EVER INTERNATIONAL PAYROLL CONFERENCE IN INDIA

Indian HR and Payroll workers came of age last week with the first International Payroll Conferences hosted on Indian soil by the newly inaugurated National Academy of Indian Payroll (NAIP))

The Conferences, both at Mumbai and Bangalore, supported by the payroll bodies of the UK and USA, were hailed as outstanding successes by the dignitaries that participated from around the Globe and by the distinguished delegates who attended.

The Mumbai Conference (held at Mumbai Cricket Association Recreation Club at Bandra Kurla Complex) and Bangalore Conference (Held at the Hotel Taj Vivanta at M G Road) were attended by in excess of 300 HR and Payroll Directors.

The Inauguration ceremony was conducted by Shri Dr Jagannath Rao Hegde (Former Sheriff of Mumbai); also in attendance was Dr J T Vyas (Past President of Rotary Club of Mumbai North Island and International Junior Chamber of Commerce).

Shri Dr Hegde pledged his full support to Mr Nayaz Qazi (Chairman of NAIP) and commended the NAIP Council and its efforts.

The Honourable Finance Minister of India Shri Pranab Mukerjee ,who could not attend in person,sent an urgent fax with his best wishes for NAIP and the Conference.

Shri Dr Narendra Jadhav (Member of the Government of India’s National Planning Commission – and National Advisory Council) who is one of India’s leading economists ,paid tribute to NAIP and its key International Partner the UK’s IPP. Dr Narendra Jadhev described the activities of NAIP as “of Great Contemporary importance to both industry and commerce and the Government of India”.

NAIP’s International Patron HE Mirza Al Sayegh was due to attend in person but as he was meeting Her Excellency Smt Pratibha Patil , the Honourable President of India, who was on a State visit of the UAE, H.E. Mirza Al Sayegh made his presentation via a live phone link, conducted by NAIP’s Chairman Mr Nayaz Qazi; His Excellency paid tribute to India describing it as the “Greatest Democracy on Earth and the UAE was proud to have such close ties with India” and acknowledged the international importance of the activities of NAIP.

The Bangalore Conference was inaugurated by Shri J T Jinkalappa, Joint Labour Commissioner of the State of Karnataka and Shri Dr Mahendra Raju , Addnl, Central Provident Fund Commissioner. Both Honourable Commissioners paid tribute to NAIP and its vision and pledged their full support in NAIP achieving its mission and that the services offered by NAIP by the way of professional qualifications and training and professional membership was very significant and required in India.

The subjects discussed at both Conferences included the relationship between the payroll fraternity (who collect all the tax revenues for the Government to bank) and the various Government Departments. The hope is to build a relationship where NAIP can assist in improving the efficiency with which Government policies are administered. Other presentations were delivered by industry experts including Mr Lancy D'Souza - Leading labour law advocate of Mumbai and Senior Legal Advisor to the Bombay Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Professor Vijay Joshi - Council Member of the Insititute of Chartered Accountants,India and Senior Officers from J.P Morgan, India. Additional sessions covered how to combat payroll fraud and the use of efficiency measures to ensure companies get the most efficient and cost effective services. Mr Pratik Vaidya, Council Member and Director, NAIP conducted an informative Indian Payroll forum which ran at the same time as UK and USA payroll forums.

Feedback from delegates hailed the conferences as successful and there was pride among the payroll fraternity for India’s hosting of these prestigious Conferences.

Dr. Narendra Jadhav is a Member of the Planning Commission, , Minister of State and Member of the National Advisory Council for the Government of India. He previously held the position of Vice-Chancellor of Pune University and Chief Economic Advisor to the Reserve Bank of India.(www.drnarendrajadhav.info)

Mr Nayaz Qazi and colleagues from NAIP discussed and appraised Dr Jadhav about the strategy of NAIP as the Indian Payroll Professional Body (www.naip.in). Mr Qazi expressed his gratitude for the advice and guidance provided by Dr Jadhav.

NAIP in highlighting the skills base within India is working closely with its International Counterparts in a variety of areas including qualifications, professional membership, best practice and knowledge and conferences.

NAIP is proud to announce that Dr Jadhav in recognising the work of NAIP, will be a Key Note Speaker at the forthcoming First Ever International Payroll Conference to be held in Mumbai on the 26th November and Bangalore on the 27th November. This will boost the establishment of NAIP as a Professional Service provider within the payroll profession both on a national and international platform.

MUMBAI CHAPTER OF SAG MEETING

NAIP held its Mumbai Chapter of its SAG Meeting.

The SAG Members consist of senior practitioners from both private industry and State Government.

The meeting reached a solid consensus that NAIP’s aims, mission, professional membership development and services was much needed and that NAIP could fulfil this, enhancing India’s standing a provider of professional services at an international level.

The SAG Members will be working closely with the NAIP Council in formulating strategy which will be of benefit not only the employer but the employee within the Payroll and HR industry as well as related industries such as Accountancy.

It was jointly announced by H.E Mirza Al Sayegh ( Representative of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum- Deputy Ruler of Dubai) with the Chairman of the National Academy of Indian Payroll ( NAIP) Mr. Nayaz Qazi, that His Excellency Mirza Al Sayegh has become " An International Patron of NAIP" .

NAIP is very proud and excited with this development.

The joint announcement was made at the Prestigious Dubai Summer Racing Festival at Newbury ( UK) which boasted some of the best Arab racehorses. The Dubai Summer Festival International Arab race day under the Patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, attracted crowds of over 15,000. The National Academy of Indian Payroll (NAIP) was proud to be involved at such a prestigious day of top quality racing.

The National Academy of Indian Payroll is the governing body for the Payroll Profession within India and is part of the Global Alliance of National Payroll Governing Bodies including its strategic partner the Institute of Payroll Professionals (UK).NAIP alongside its international counterparts IPP-UK, APA-U.S.A, will be holding the first International payroll conference in Mumbai and Bangalore,India this November.

NAIP offers Post Graduate Qualification's and the Advanced Diploma in Payroll Management as well as specific vocational training programmes for administrators to Company Directors .And equally important its students will gain internationally recognised Professional recognition and membership.

NAIP will launch its GCC services from Dubai. Its operations for the GCC will involve the combination of its International Partners within this Global Profession.

The Mumbai (Bandra) seminar dignitaries included Additional Central PF Commissioner, Assistant Regional director of PFI, Commissioner of Labour as well as NAIP Council Members.

The Pune Seminar was held at the World Trade Centre; in attendance with MIT (Pune) Directors as well as Board Representation from Pune University.

There was significant interest by the attendees in all aspects of NAIP from professional qualifications to the national/ international membership structure.

The seminars also provided an opportunity to the attendees to receive technical updates provided by NAIP as well as a unique opportunity to discuss with the several Government Senior Officers their concerns and prevailing issues to the employer and from the perspective of the workforce.
